For those who are interested in exploring the surrounding area we suggest three nearby destinations, that can easily be reached on foot.

One of the oldest springs of the island, the spring of "Metochi" is just 700 metres away from the complex. The walk up the hill on the tarmac road is pretty easy and the views are magnificent.

It is 1.100 metres away from Nepheles, or just an other 400 metres further from "Metochi" spring. A walk to this picturesque small chapel, devoted to Saint George, will give you the chance to mediate in a holy area and admire fabulous views. On the way back, do not forget to pick up oregano, which grows in abundance on the surrounding olive groves.

The Holy Monastery of Evangelistria is 2.300 metres up the hill from Nepheles and the view will worth the effort. It is one of the innumerable Byzantine monuments saved in Skopelos. What has remained from the monastery is the church and the defensive walls. The monastery church, honoured to the "Annunciation of the Virgin" is in the cross - in - square with dome, without narthex.
