WELCOME TO OUR PELION PAGES ! The Pelion region (the mountainous peninsula west of Skiathos and to the north of the island of Evia, that separates the Aegean from the bay of Pagasitikos) is one of the most beautiful areas in Greece and is best known for its double life: summer and winter it draws visitors from around Greece and Europe. With its double coast line, there is a big choice for swimming, between Aegean beaches with a wilder beauty and fewer facilities and the Pagasitikos bay (bay of Magnesia) always calm with plenty of taverns. |

Thickly wooded with pines and cypresses, it has a wide variety of all kinds of fruit-bearing trees on its slopes, especially apple, pear, peach, fig, chestnut, and of course olive. Nestled among the forests are dozens of delightful villages built around squares shaded by large plane trees and adorned with splashing fountains. Pelion is never over-crowded and you can easily visit it from Volos town. It has a unique and protected architecture and a rich history. Most recently, Pelion - including Milies and Vizitsa, has been featured in "The Most Beautiful Villages of Greece", by Mark Ottaway (London, 1998). |
